The Complete Linda Lovelace

I’ll be reading a piece about Linda Lovelace and the history of Deep Throat that I've never performed before. This promises to be a very special evening, not only because Yours Truly rarely performs at such events, but also because the rest of the bill features some of the sex scene's best and brightest writers.

I’m proud to be on a bill with David Henry Sterry (author of Hos, Hookers, Call Girls and Rent Boys); Zoe Hansen (author, memoirist and contributor to Hos, Hookers, Call Girls and Rent Boys); stripper/filmmaker Anne Hanavan; Aimee DeLong (author, The Twenty-Seven Year Old and La Flaneuse); burlesque artist Miss Mary Cyn; model, actor and escort Stephen Lloyd; “stripperlesque” performer Essence Alexander; alt-porn pioneer and musician Joe Gallant; poet Puma Perl; and Big Mike, creator of Big Mike’s Big Show

More details to follow, as I get them myself.

Some Not Very Sexy Questions About eBooks

When The Complete Linda Lovelace is reissued in a few short months, there will be a Print-On-Demand (POD) version and several eBook versions. At the very least it will be available for your Kindle—and maybe Nook—and there'll be an instant-download PDF version too. I've been looking into the fascinating and growing world of digital publishing, but I want to ask what you think about eBooks too; consider this less a Survey of the Week and more of a request for some friendly advice. I want all potential readers to have a say in how the product comes out.

So here are five quick questions. I'm leaving the comments box open this time; you can either cut and paste your answers or just tell me what you think about eBooks in general. Thanks for your help!

1. Is $9.99 a fair price for an eBook with more original content than the Print-On-Demand version?

2. Do you care about "enhanced" eBooks with short video and audio clips (like the author's interview tapes)?

3. What do you think of eBooks that end with printable coupons you could use for discounts on products not related to the book, if the coupons didn't increase the eBook sale price? For instance, sex toys or adult DVDs...

4. If you read eBooks, what format do you like best?

5. If you don't read eBooks, why not?
